Governor Dikko Radda has unveiled a new grassroots mobilisation drive, ‘Dikko Gida-Gida 2027’, a structure designed to canvass support for his second-term bid through direct engagement with residents across Katsina State.
The platform, whose name translates to house-to-house campaign, was formally inaugurated on Wednesday, the 11th of February, 2026, alongside the opening of its state secretariat in Katsina. The initiative is being championed by former House of Representatives member, Kabir Shu’aibu-Charanchi.
At the launch, Governor Radda praised Shu’aibu-Charanchi for what he described as a courageous and self-motivated effort, pledging moral backing for members of the group while distancing his administration from its funding.
“I want to inform the public that what Kabir-Charanchi is doing, he is doing it willingly with his personal resources. We did not give him a single kobo,” Mr Radda stated.
He called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to stay united and patient, noting that meaningful governance takes time and cooperation.

“In terms of dividends of democracy, we cannot always get everything at once. I am appealing to party members to exercise patience. The most important thing for us is to remain focused on delivering projects that will benefit the entire people of the state, improve their well-being and sustain the trust they have in us,” the governor said.
Earlier, Shu’aibu-Charanchi explained that the ‘Dikko Gida-Gida 2027’ movement was established to solidify grassroots backing for Radda ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said the group would embark on an extensive door-to-door outreach across the state, aimed not only at mobilising support but also at reconciling party members who may feel sidelined.
“Our aim is to go round, visit and plead with those who might have been offended. We have no opposition in Katsina except internal issues,” he said.
He added that the campaign would prioritise fostering unity within the party and rallying members behind the governor’s re-election ambition.
