WAEC Announces Friday for 2024 Computer-Based Exam Commencement

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024–Second Series, will commence on Friday, October 25, and conclude on Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, WAEC explained that the examination will follow a hybrid format, where multiple-choice questions will be answered on-screen, while essay and practical questions will be displayed on-screen, with candidates required to respond using answer booklets.

However, candidates who prefer the traditional Paper and Pen method for the entire exam will be accommodated.

The council also announced an extension of the registration deadline to Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Additionally, a “Walk-in-Candidate” option will be available, allowing candidates to register 24 hours before any scheduled exam paper.

The final timetable for the examination is now available for download on the WAEC Nigeria website.

WAEC encouraged candidates to utilize the numerous study resources available, including the WAEC e-Study platform, past questions, and the WAECKonnect platform for peer interaction.

WAEC wished all candidates success and reiterated its commitment to using technological innovations to improve accessibility for all stakeholders.
