Ramadan: Kano Govt Sets Record Straight on School Closure Rumors

In response to growing concerns over the closure of primary and secondary schools during Ramadan, the Kano State Government has clarified its stance, reaffirming that the decision was made with the well-being of students and families in mind.

Honorable Ahmad Tijjani Sani Lawal, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, addressed the matter in a recent press briefing, emphasizing that the government prioritizes creating an atmosphere conducive to spiritual devotion during the holy month.

He explained that Ramadan is a deeply significant period for Muslims, and allowing families to engage in fasting, prayers, and religious activities without academic disruptions is a key consideration.

According to Lawal, the policy aligns with existing legal frameworks and is implemented with careful deliberation to balance religious commitments with educational responsibilities.

He assured the public that the administration remains committed to maintaining order in the education sector while also respecting religious observances.
