The House of Representatives has set up a joint committee to screen the new service chiefs following their recent appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Buhari had recently appointed Maj. Gen. Lucky Eluonye Onyenuchea lrabor as Chief of Defence Staff; Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Vice Marshal Isiaka O. Amao, as Chief of Air staff.
He had after announcing the appointment forwarded their names to the National Assembly to confirm their appointments.
Consequently, the Reps members during their plenary on Wednesday, set up a 40-member committee for the screening of the new service chiefs.
The members of the committee, which include chairmen and deputy chairmen of Standing Committees on Defence, Army, Air Force and Navy among others, were announced by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.
