Residents desert home as bandits abduct 63 in Kaduna communities

Bandits are said to have abducted no less than 63 people from Agunu Dutse and Katul communities in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

It was learnt that the victims were abducted on Wednesday and Friday after the terrorists stormed their communities.

FirstNews learnt that the bandits first attacked Katul village after a railway crossing on Wednesday night where they kidnapped sixteen people.

According to a local source, four out of the 16 kidnapped victims later escaped and returned home on Thursday.

The source said that the bandits carrying sophisticated weapons, on Thursday stormed Agunu Dutse community in large numbers at about 1:am, shot sporadically to scare the residents, before abducting 47 people 

It was further learnt that many of the residents sustained various degrees of injuries.

As a result of the attack, residents of the two communities have deserted their homes for fear of the terrorists returning to abduct them too.

The state government and police are to confirm the report when this report was filed for publication.
