The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has advised corps members to respect local customs, remain committed to their duties, be resourceful and punctual at their places of primary assignment, while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
Nafiu gave the advice while addressing the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One corps members at the NYSC orientation camps in Ogun and Oyo states, according to a post on the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters X handle on Saturday.
He commended the corps members for answering the call to national service and urged them to manage their finances prudently, noting that wise financial decisions would support them during and after their service year.
The NYSC boss also cautioned the corps members to respect the customs and traditions of their host communities and maintain good conduct throughout their service.
“When you are posted to your place of primary assignment, respect their rules, be punctual, be resourceful and learn the culture of the organisation you are posted to,” Nafiu said.
