Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service on Thursday allegedly locked up a school, with pupil inside the compound because the school authority defaulted in the payment of the state income tax.
The school, Adonai Nursery School, is said to be located in Bashiri, Ado-Ekiti. Parents of the pupils were also reportedly denied access to pick their kids from the school.
A mother, who shared a video of the school with the pupils locked up, on social media, condemned the act, describing it as wicked.
She further said it was unfair that pupils could be locked up from 8:am till around 4:pm when she made the video.
“The children are not animals. A Notice should have been given to parents to come and pick up their children,” the woman said.
