Rivers Govt Awaits Detailed Briefing on Supreme Court Ruling

…Urges Residents to Remain Calm

The Rivers State Government has announced that it is awaiting a comprehensive briefing on the full implications of the recent Supreme Court judgment regarding state allocation and local government administration.

Commissioner for Information, Joe Johnson, made this known in a statement on Friday, assuring residents that the government will thoroughly review the situation once detailed information is received before making any decisions in the best interest of the state.

He appealed to the people of Rivers State to maintain peace, remain law-abiding, and continue their daily activities while the government seeks further clarification on the ruling.

Addressing reports surrounding the defection of 27 lawmakers, Johnson clarified that the matter was not part of the Supreme Court judgment, as it is still pending before the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt.
