A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called out a group of disgruntled politicians, accusing them of attempting to frustrate the Governor Siminalayi Fubara-led administration’s efforts to deliver much-needed development to the people of Rivers State.
In a statement, the lawmaker expressed strong disapproval of the actions of these individuals, alleging that their efforts were aimed at obstructing the progress that Governor Fubara has been striving to bring to the state.
“I had said it months back that this illegal action won’t stand because, as a member of the PDP, I’m well acquainted with the Constitution of our great party and that of Nigeria,” he said, referring to an ongoing effort by some politicians to challenge the governor’s leadership.
The lawmaker further highlighted that today’s ruling by the court had called into question the membership status of the individuals behind the alleged illegal actions.
“This ruling has further challenged the membership status of those behind the illegal action.
“Let me once again reiterate that those who sat and made the announcement in May are not members of the PDP because their names are nowhere written in the PDP Register of Ward 1, Ngo, Andoni Local Government,” he added.
He pointed out that these individuals were acting without proper authority or legitimacy within the PDP, accusing them of being “hired” to disrupt the smooth governance and development of Rivers State.
“These are people hired to be a clog in the wheel of development and good governance in Rivers State, championed by Governor Siminalayi Fubara. They will continue to fail,” he said confidently.
The lawmaker concluded by urging his constituents to sustain their support for Governor Fubara and his administration.
He stressed that despite the efforts to undermine progress, he would continue to work closely with the governor to ensure that the people of Rivers State benefit from the planned development projects.
“I will continue to synergize with the Governor to better the lives of the people,” he affirmed, emphasizing the importance of unity in the face of political opposition.
The statement underscores the growing tension within the Rivers State political landscape, as internal party struggles threaten to derail the governor’s development agenda.
While some figures within the PDP attempt to challenge Fubara’s leadership, the lawmaker’s call for unity signals a determination to maintain focus on the broader goal of improving governance and development in the state.
