Rohr invites one home base, Musa, Osimen for Benin, Lesotho qualifiers

Coach of the Nigerian national team, Gernot Rohr has invited Cyprus John Noble of the Enyimba Football Club, Ahmed Musa and Victor Osimhen for this month’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying battles with Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively.

The trio were among the 24 players invited by Rohr to ensure the team secures victory for the two matches.

The super eagles are currently on top of the Group E with eight points, one ahead of Benin Republic and five more than third-placed Sierra Leone.

The matches are scheduled to take place at the Stade Charles de Gaulle in Porto Novo on Saturday, 27th March.

The team will face the Crocodiles of Lesotho in Lagos three days later, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

The German tactician has also handed a first senior national team call-up for the Spanish based forward Sadiq Umar, who has been in form scoring goal for his club side, Almeria FC.

Rohr, is looking forward to qualifying Nigeria to another AFCON tournament, after steering Nigeria to qualify for two major tournaments in 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations since his arrival as the manager of the super eagles.

Eagles could earn a ticket to the finals in Porto Novo Cameroon this time with a win or a draw in the both encounters.
