At least 124 people have been confirmed dead, and more than 150 others injured, following the collapse of a nightclub roof in the Dominican Republic’s capital, Santo Domingo.
The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Tuesday during a performance by well-known merengue artist, Rubby Pérez, at the Jet Set nightclub.
According to reports, Pérez was among those who tragically lost their lives in the disaster, as confirmed by his manager.

Hundreds of people were inside the nightclub when the roof gave way, and rescue operations are still underway as authorities continue to search for survivors.
Concerns are growing that the death toll may rise further as the search continues.
