Operatives of the Lagos State Rapid Response Squad, RRS, have arrested more than 30 suspected miscreants during a midnight enforcement operation along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
The operation, conducted on Sunday, targeted individuals allegedly involved in activities that posed security concerns to motorists and other road users along the busy corridor.
The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed the development in a post on his Facebook page on Sunday.
According to Wahab, the suspects were allegedly involved in harassing and intimidating motorists, demanding money from road users and, in some cases, damaging vehicles when their demands were not met.
He said the enforcement operation was part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve safety, security and orderliness on major roads across Lagos.

The commissioner said the activities of the suspected miscreants had raised concerns among motorists using the Lekki-Ajah axis, particularly at night.
Wahab stated that the RRSRRS would continue to conduct intelligence-led operations and enforcement exercises against individuals whose activities threaten public safety or disrupt the free movement of people and vehicles.
He urged residents and motorists to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could assist ongoing efforts to maintain law and order across the state.
The latest operation underscores the Lagos State Government’s continued crackdown on activities considered capable of undermining security and public order along major transportation corridors.
