Sacked IGP Adamu hands over to successor, Baba

Sacked Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Wednesday, handed over to the newly appointed acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.

Adamu handed over to his successor at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Baba had earlier been decorated by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo as the Acting IGP at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, appointed Baba, a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, as acting IGP.

Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, announced Baba’s appointment while addressing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa.

Dingyadi said the appointment was with immediate effect.

The Acting IGP replaced Mohammed Adamu, whose tenure ended on February, but given a three-month tenure extension by President Buhari in February.
