Liverpool took another giant step toward Premier League glory as Mohamed Salah’s second-half brace secured a 3-1 comeback victory over Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.
The result extends the Reds’ lead over second-placed Arsenal to 16 points, leaving their rivals with an uphill battle in the title race.
Arne Slot’s men were given an early scare when Southampton’s Will Smallbone opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+1), handing the visitors an unexpected lead at the break. However, Liverpool responded in dominant fashion after the restart.

Darwin Núñez drew the hosts level in the 51st minute before Salah converted a penalty three minutes later to put Liverpool in front.
The Egyptian talisman sealed the win with another spot-kick in the 88th minute, ensuring a well-deserved home victory for the league leaders.
With the season entering its final stretch, Liverpool’s commanding advantage at the top of the table suggests the title may already be beyond Arsenal’s reach.
