Sallah Clash: Police Halt Emir Sanusi’s Durbar Celebration in Kano

In a decisive move to safeguard public order, the Kano State Police Command has imposed a ban on all Durbar activities during the 2025 Eid-El-Fitr celebrations.

Announcing the directive at the Bompai Police Headquarters on the 28th of March, 2025, Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Bakori, stressed the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the festivities.

To ensure maximum security, Bakori revealed that strategic measures had been implemented to protect worshippers at designated Eid prayer grounds.

“As we celebrate, let us remember that peace is paramount. We must put aside our differences and work together as law-abiding citizens for the progress of our state and nation,” he urged.

Furthermore, the police chief reiterated strict restrictions on horse riding (Kilisa), car racing, and reckless driving during the holiday period, underscoring the commitment to public safety.
