Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured residents that his administration will further strengthen ongoing investments in critical sectors including infrastructure, housing, healthcare, education and security.
He gave the assurance in a statement released on Friday, May 29, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, as he marked seven years in office since assuming leadership in 2019.
Sanwo-Olu said the administration remains committed to expanding development projects across Lagos, stressing that residents should expect greater progress in the years ahead.
He said the milestone offered an opportunity to reassure Lagosians of continued delivery of key services and infrastructure.
“As we mark this seventh anniversary, I want to assure Lagosians that the best is yet to come.
“We will not rest on our oars. We will do more in providing quality roads, affordable housing, reliable healthcare, world-class education, and a secure environment where businesses can thrive,” the governor said.
Reflecting on his tenure, Sanwo-Olu described the journey as one built on shared sacrifice, resilience and cooperation between government and citizens.
He thanked residents for their trust and support since 2019, noting that their partnership had played a central role in the state’s progress.
“Seven years ago, we began this journey with a clear vision to build a Greater Lagos that works for all.

“Today, I salute every Lagosian for the trust, patience, and partnership you have shown.
“Your support has been the bedrock of every milestone we have achieved, from improved infrastructure and healthcare, to education reforms, urban mass transport systems, youth empowerment, and urban renewal projects across the five divisions of our state,” he said.
The governor said his administration had remained focused on its THEMES+ agenda despite global disruptions such as the COVID-19 pandemic and economic challenges.
He also acknowledged the support of President Bola Tinubu, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda had complemented Lagos State’s development efforts in key sectors.
Sanwo-Olu added that the government had recently showcased its achievements through a series of ministerial press briefings.
“All our modest achievements in the past years have been presented to the good people of Lagos,” he said.
He urged residents, private sector stakeholders and development partners to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at sustainable growth.
The governor also appreciated civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress for their contributions to Lagos’ progress over the past seven years.
