Security agencies in Anambra State have intensified preparations ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s scheduled visit on Thursday, holding a five-hour closed-door meeting on Monday to fine-tune safety arrangements and ensure a seamless presidential stopover.
The high-level strategy session brought together top representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi (Rtd).
According to a statement released by state police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the meeting was convened to “strengthen security arrangements” and harmonize operations across all security units.
“The deliberations focused on reviewing current security intelligence, assessing threat levels, and implementing fortified security measures within the capital city and across strategic locations,” the statement noted.

Joint patrols, coordinated deployments, and surveillance operations are among the measures being rolled out to guarantee safety before, during, and after the President’s visit.
Operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and contingency protocols also featured prominently on the agenda.
This proactive approach, Ikenga said, underscores Anambra’s security community’s commitment to safeguarding the President, accompanying dignitaries, and the public, while maintaining law and order throughout the state.
President Tinubu is expected to commission key “legacy projects” completed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo during the visit, which is being viewed as a significant political and developmental milestone for the South-East state.
