Selena Gomez Claps Back at Calls for Her Deportation from U.S.

Popular US singer and actress, Selena Gomez, has fired back at a call for her deportation after breaking down in tears over Donald Trump’s ICE raids.

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), alongside other agencies, carried out sweeping nationwide raids on the 26th of January, by the 27th, ICE reported that over 1,100 undocumented immigrants had been apprehended.

In a now-deleted Instagram video, Gomez, who has Mexican heritage, expressed deep sympathy for those affected.

Overcome with emotion, the 32-year-old tearfully lamented the plight of deported Mexicans, saying:

“I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children, I don’t understand. I wish I could do something. I will try everything, I promise.”

Her emotional response didn’t sit well with Sam Parker, a former US Senate candidate, who called for her deportation.

“Deport Selena Gomez. She picked illegals over America because she’s the 3rd gen descendent of Mexican illegals who received citizenship in the ’87 Amnesty,” Parker alleged.

“She has an entitlement attitude toward America, like her illegal parents. Maybe Selena should be deported, too?”

But Gomez, known for her poise and wit, didn’t let the attack slide. Taking to her Instagram story, she hit back with a cool and cutting response:

“Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”

With this sharp comeback, the singer made it clear she wasn’t rattled by the controversy.
