The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested two scavengers for allegedly stealing aluminum cable wires.
The suspects, identified as Kamoru Mustapha, 25, and Mubarak Idris, 26, were apprehended by corps officers on routine patrol at about 5:00 p.m. on March 29, 2025.
Confirming the arrest in a statement issued in Abeokuta over the weekend, the Public Relations Officer of So-Safe Corps, AC Moruf Yusuf, said the suspects were caught in a bush at Onijanganjangan, Obada-Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area while attempting to cart away stolen aluminum cables.

Yusuf added that during a preliminary investigation, the duo confessed to the crime.
Following directives from the Corps Commander, Soji Gonzallo Ganzallo, the suspects and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
