Soludo maintains lead as APGA wins 17 of 19 LGAs declared

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Saturday governorship election in Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has won in 17 local government areas out of the 19 declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Soludo completed the LGAs he won in with the result of Anambra West, which was announced by the INEC returning officer, Dr German Anagbogu.

In the LGA, APGA polled 1,918 votes, APC – 1,233, PDP – 1,401.

After the result was announced, collation was adjourned for 40 minutes, after which the final result may be declared.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, who is state returning officer

said, “We are going to discuss one of the local governments (Orumba North), then in Ihiala there was no election at all. We will take a break now and come back.”
