Governors from the South-West gathered at Lagos House, Ikeja, on Thursday, February 13, for a crucial meeting to discuss security, agriculture, and economic collaboration in the region.
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji were among the first to arrive by noon. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke joined later.
The meeting, hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who chairs the South-West Governors’ Forum, is expected to address key regional challenges.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, earlier confirmed the agenda.
“The South-West Governors’ Forum will discuss issues of common interest, such as agriculture and food security, to advance economic growth, foster collaboration, and enhance development initiatives in the Zone.

“Security of lives and property will also be part of the agenda,” he stated.
The last forum meeting was held in Lagos on June 10, 2024, when Sanwo-Olu was unanimously appointed chairman.
