Sowore Accuses Wike of Owning Multi-Billion Naira Hotel in Port Harcourt

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has renewed his criticism of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, with fresh allegations linking him to the ownership of a luxury hotel in Port Harcourt.

In a post shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, Sowore claimed that the J’s Signature Luxury Hotel in Port Harcourt, where the least expensive room is priced at ₦250,000 per night, is owned by Wike.

The fiery activist alleged that the property was acquired through proxies, but suggested that Wike’s penchant for names beginning with the letter “J”—as seen in the names of his children, Jasmyne, Joaquim, and Jordan—betrayed the ownership trail.

“The thieving FCT Minister would steal anything in sight. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike @GovWike is perhaps the biggest treasury looter in the history of Rivers State and now the FCT. This multibillion-naira hotel in Port Harcourt is reportedly owned by Nyesom Wike,” Sowore wrote.

This allegation comes just days after Sowore accused the former Rivers governor of purchasing property in Florida under the names of his wife and son.

Sowore, who has long positioned himself as a critic of corruption and abuse of public office, urged residents of Rivers State not to forget that the resources allegedly used to build the hotel belonged to them.

As of press time, Wike has not responded to the fresh allegations.
