Spanish team have qualified for the quarter final stage of the Euro 2020 after beating Croatia in an eight-goal thrilling encounter last night.

It was Luis Enrique’s side that dominated the game in the early stages but went behind after conceding an own goal when goalkeeper Unai Simon’s miscontrol caused Pedri’s 49-yard back pass to bounce into his own net.

But the game ended 5 – 3 at extra time with Spain qualifying to the next stage of the competition.

Speaking after the game in a post match interview, Spanish Coach Luis Enrique, expressing how he felt during the encounter said, “I’ve lived through really intense matches as a player and manager but this one genuinely had a bit of everything.

“I’m ready for games like this if we have another – but I’m not sure if my family or the fans feel the same!

“The end of the match was so beautiful – I’m glad that the game gave us a second chance to win it. It was an epic game. I’ve experienced many intense games in my career but this was one of the best.”

Spain will now face Switzerland, who beat France on penalties in the quarter-finals in St Petersburg on Friday.
