The Taraba State Police Command has dismissed circulating reports suggesting that one of its officers was involved in unlawful activities in Usmanu Karim Lamido Local Government Area on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
In a statement released the same day and signed by ASP Victor Mshelizah, Acting Police Public Relations Officer, the command said the officer was stationed at his legitimate duty post in uniform, conducting routine surveillance amid unrest in the area.
The officer was not apprehended with militias, armed groups, or any persons of interest, nor was he found with prohibited weapons or contraband.
Preliminary investigations confirmed he remained at the scene when military personnel arrived and cooperated fully with responding security teams.
The statement emphasized that no evidence links the officer to any wrongdoing and that the matter is under internal review to establish the full facts.
