Team Brazil made history on Sunday by securing its first-ever series victory at the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, capping off a dominant performance in the first African edition of the all-electric powerboat championship.
Piloted by Timmy Hansen and Leva Millere-Hagin, Team Brazil displayed exceptional control and strategy throughout the event — navigating through the group stages and race-offs before claiming a decisive win in the final showdown.
The triumph earned them 38 points, pushing their overall championship tally to 89 points.
Team Blue Rising finished in second place, while Team Drogba claimed the third spot on the podium.
Meanwhile, championship leaders Team Rafa and Team Brady were unable to make the top three in Lagos.
The two-day E1 Lagos Grand Prix, held on October 5 and 6 at Victoria Island, marked Lagos as the first African city to host the prestigious series — a milestone blending sport, technology, and sustainability.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who attended the finals, hailed the event as a landmark achievement for Lagos and the African continent, describing it as “a celebration of innovation and progress.”
“Hosting the E1 Grand Prix is not just about sport,” Sanwo-Olu said. “It’s about innovation, environmental responsibility, and showcasing Lagos as a hub for clean energy and sustainable development.”
The governor commended the organizers, teams, and fans for contributing to a successful outing, emphasizing that the event reinforces Lagos’s position as a forward-looking city embracing the future of green technology and international sports.
