‘Tell Your Papa Country Hard’ — Eedris Abdulkareem Fires Seyi Tinubu in Protest Song

Nigerian music veteran Eedris Abdulkareem has taken aim at Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, in a bold new song calling on him to confront his father about the nation’s deteriorating condition.

The track, titled Tell Your Papa, was posted on X (formerly Twitter). In it, Abdulkareem delivers a raw critique of Nigeria’s leadership, laced with direct appeals to Seyi Tinubu.

The release follows Seyi’s recent remarks in Adamawa, where he referred to his father as “the greatest president in Nigeria’s history.”

Responding with sharp lyrics, Abdulkareem said, “Seyi, tell your papa country hard. Tell your papa people dey die. Tell your papa this one don pass jagajaga.”

The rapper, known for his activism through music, lamented the growing hardship under President Tinubu’s administration, citing worsening insecurity, economic instability, and widespread public frustration.

Seyi, how far? I swear your papa no try. Too much empty promises. On behalf of Nigerians, take our message to him; kidnappers dey kill Nigerians,” he rapped.

In another verse, Abdulkareem challenged Seyi Tinubu to step out of his privileged bubble: “Seyi, try travel by road without your security make you feel the pains of fellow Nigerians. You dey fly private jets, insecurity no be your problem.”

The song has quickly drawn reactions online, striking a chord with many Nigerians who feel the weight of the country’s current struggles.
