Thief Burgles Car Outside Abuja Police Station, Steals Laptop, Vital Documents

In a brazen act that has left many stunned, a thief shattered the window of a parked car right in front of the Zone 7 Police Station in Abuja and made away with a laptop and a bag containing critical land documents.

The incident came to public attention through a viral video posted by @ChuksEricE on X (formerly Twitter), capturing the distressed vehicle owner surveying the damage.

His voice, heavy with disbelief, can be heard in the footage:

“In front of the police station, Zone 7 Police Station, they broke the windscreen and took away the laptop from inside this car.”

The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, emphasized that the stolen bag held irreplaceable land ownership papers.

In his emotional appeal, he urged Abuja residents to be on the lookout and return the documents if found — or even if stolen unintentionally.

“Please, if you reside in Abuja and you mistakenly see any bag anywhere, it contains landed documents,” he said. “If you mistakenly stole any bag, please just contact me.”

The incident has ignited widespread conversation on social media, with many questioning the effectiveness of security measures—even at the doorstep of law enforcement.

Critics online have expressed frustration and disbelief that such a theft could occur under the supposed watchful eyes of the police.

Others are calling for an internal investigation into the response—or lack thereof—by officers stationed at Zone 7.

As of this report, the FCT Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the theft.
