At least three people have died, with many others injured after Ukraine’s largest drones targeted the Moscow region.

Among the victims was a 50-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Reports indicate that two of the deceased were killed as they began their shift at a food company.

According to Russian media citing health officials, who disclosed this on X said that 18 more people, including three children, were injured.

Confirming the incident, the Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyev, stated that the casualties occurred in the towns of Vidnoye and Domodedovo.

Vorobyev added that two people were in serious condition in a Domodedovo hospital, a 43-year-old woman with torso injuries, including intestinal damage, and a 44-year-old man who sustained wounds to his torso, shoulder, and shin.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported on his social media account that seven apartments in a residential building were damaged.

“The roof of one building was hit by drone wreckage, though Sobyanin described the damage as “insignificant,” he said.

Reports also indicate that two people died after debris struck a distribution center, and more than 40 cars were damaged in the incident.

One district train network has been suspended, and flight restrictions were imposed at Moscow’s airports after the attack.

Governor Vorobyevp shared images on social media that allegedly show one of the damaged apartments and burnt vehicles in what appears to be a car park in the Moscow region.

The attack led to flight restrictions at Moscow’s four major airports—Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky—as well as at airports in the Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod regions. These airports serve millions of passengers annually.

However, Russian media, citing aviation regulators, reported that flights have since resumed at Sheremetyevo Airport.

Ukraine has not publicly commented on the attack.
