Three people have died in Auchi, Edo State, after a Dangote Cement truck was involved in a fatal accident and caught fire on Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025.
The crash occurred directly in front of Omega Fire Ministries along the Auchi–Abuja road. Eyewitnesses reported that the fully loaded truck reportedly suffered brake failure before colliding with a white Mercedes-Benz GLK carrying four passengers. Three occupants were killed instantly, while another sustained serious injuries.
The collision also involved a BUA truck traveling in the opposite direction. Shortly after the crash, the Dangote truck exploded, leaving it completely burnt and causing panic among residents and worshippers nearby.
The incident drew strong condemnation from Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries. During a sermon earlier in the day, he referenced a previous accident involving Phyna’s sister, who was critically injured by a Dangote truck, and said:
“Dangote trucks are anointed to ruin people’s lives. If I were to sue him, I could have made a lot of money because he has damaged my petrol station and many other things. I didn’t say anything; I just replaced them. I know of at least 14 people who have died because of a Dangote trailer.”

Suleman’s comments highlight growing concerns about road safety and the management of heavy commercial vehicles in the region.
Emergency responders were on the scene to contain the fire and assist victims. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased as investigations continue.
The repeated accidents involving Dangote trucks have reignited calls for stricter enforcement of licensing, driver training, and vehicle maintenance regulations across Edo State.
