President Bola Tinubu has extended an olive branch to discontented members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging patience and assuring them of his dedication to preserving the party’s unity.
Speaking on Wednesday, February 26, at the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Tinubu acknowledged the grievances within the party and announced the formation of reconciliation committees in all states.
“I am appealing to them, please be calm. I am very happy, and I promise not to let any of you down,” he said.
Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and ex-Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi are among those who have publicly criticised the party’s state of affairs.
Tinubu, however, praised his administration’s progress, particularly in security and food prices.

“I am happy the food prices are going down, particularly during this Ramadan period,” he stated.
He also approved the relocation of the APC national secretariat, describing the current venue as “too small.”
APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, highlighting his leadership’s achievements, said the party was focused on winning the upcoming governorship elections in Anambra and Osun.
“Our focus is now on Anambra and Osun states, and in compliance with the timetable released by INEC, the party has already begun preparations,” Ganduje said.
He added that ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party were yielding positive results.
Some APC governors and party chieftains attended the NEC meeting, while notable absentees included former President Muhammadu Buhari, El-Rufai, and Amaechi.
