Tinubu Celebrates Oba Elegushi At 50, Praises Leadership, Development Efforts

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Saheed Ademola Elegushi, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, praising his leadership and contributions to community development.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended the monarch for his ability to blend tradition with modern governance, particularly through initiatives that promote development within his domain.

Tinubu highlighted the monarch’s adoption of innovation and global best practices, especially in areas such as agriculture and skills acquisition, noting that these efforts have positively impacted lives in Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom.

“Oba Elegushi has demonstrated vision, grace, wisdom, and courage in balancing tradition with modernity,” the President stated, adding that the monarch’s reign has produced notable developmental gains for his people.

Reflecting on their past working relationship, Tinubu recalled Elegushi’s service during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State, where he served as Special Assistant from 2003 to 2007 and later as Senior Special Assistant from 2007 to 2010.

According to the President, Elegushi consistently displayed empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to public service during that period.

Tinubu concluded by praying for the monarch’s continued good health, longevity, and sustained service to his community.

The milestone celebration has drawn attention to the evolving role of traditional rulers in Nigeria, particularly in fostering grassroots development and bridging cultural heritage with modern governance.
