Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of one of the abducted teachers from Esiele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the act as barbaric and unacceptable.
The President also assured Nigerians that security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue all remaining victims kidnapped during the recent attack on schools in the area.
The condemnation was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the Presidency, armed bandits invaded schools within the Esiele community last Friday, abducting staff, pupils, and students from Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School.
The statement revealed that one of the abducted teachers was killed while rescue operations were still ongoing.
President Tinubu expressed sympathy to the affected families and the Oyo State Government over the tragic development.
“I sympathise with Governor Seyi Makinde and commend the steps he has taken on the matter. I sympathise with the families of the kidnapped victims,” the President said.
He further disclosed that security operatives have been deployed to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of those still in captivity.
According to the statement, security agencies are working round the clock to apprehend the kidnappers and their collaborators within the community.
Tinubu also commended the Inspector-General of Police and security commanders in Oyo and Kwara states for their swift response and deployment of tactical and Intelligence Response Team personnel to the area.

“The Federal Government is working with the Oyo State Government to rescue all the victims,” he stated.
The President added that the Inspector-General of Police is personally supervising a technology-driven rescue operation aimed at ensuring a breakthrough in the ongoing mission.
“We expect a breakthrough soon. The bandits and all their local collaborators will be fished out and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Tinubu assured.
The President also linked the incident to the growing call for the establishment of state police across the country, urging the National Assembly to accelerate legislative action on the proposal.
“Cases of kidnapping further make imperative the establishment of state police to man some of our underserved areas,” he said.
The attack on the schools has triggered outrage across Oyo State, with growing concerns over insecurity and the safety of students and teachers in vulnerable communities.
