Tinubu Has Done the Needful, Says Economic Adviser Fasua

Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua, has declared that Nigeria now has the “serious government” citizens had long demanded, crediting the president for taking decisive steps to address the nation’s economic challenges.

Fasua made the remark on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, where he assessed the state of the economy under Tinubu’s administration.

“People wanted a serious government, now Nigeria has a serious government in the person of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has done the needful,” Fasua said.

The presidential aide maintained that Tinubu’s policies, though tough in the short term, are necessary to reposition the country’s economy for long-term growth and sustainability. He insisted that the administration’s measures reflect commitment, seriousness, and an understanding of the structural reforms required to stabilise Nigeria.

Fasua’s comments come against the backdrop of ongoing debates over the impact of government policies on inflation, the cost of living, and unemployment. While critics argue that ordinary Nigerians continue to feel the brunt of reforms, supporters maintain that Tinubu’s economic team is charting a path toward recovery.

The presidency has consistently defended its policy direction, emphasising that structural adjustments are essential to revive the economy and create opportunities for sustainable development.
