Tinubu Inaugurates NNPCL Board After Seven-Week Delay

President Bola Tinubu has finally sworn in the newly appointed board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), more than a month after their names were announced.

At a brief ceremony on Thursday afternoon, May 22, inside the Aso Rock Villa, Tinubu administered the oath of office to Ahmadu Kida, the new Non-Executive Chairman, and Bashir Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer.

Their appointments, along with other board members, were first made public on April 2, 2025, but the swearing-in only took place on May 22.

Shortly after the ceremony, Tinubu left for the All Progressives Congress National Summit, held at the State House Banquet Hall.

The new 11-member NNPCL board draws representatives from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
