A pro-Tinubu campaign group in Ondo State, the Grassroot Movement for Tinubu (GMT), has expressed concern over what it described as the alleged victimisation of its members.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media, Oyewamide Ojo, the group said it was troubled by a leaked voice message purportedly recounting a meeting involving the state governor, council chairmen, and senior officials. The message allegedly suggested that GMT members risked being removed from government positions.
Ojo dismissed any link between the group and local government funds, stressing that GMT’s activities are strictly focused on promoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s achievements.
He highlighted initiatives such as free medical outreaches and upcoming sports programmes in Ondo’s senatorial districts, insisting that such efforts should not be construed as disloyalty to the state government.

The statement further disclosed that the alleged threats had led to the resignation of a councillor, Babatunde Falae, from the movement. Nonetheless, GMT reaffirmed its loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu while urging stakeholders to embrace unity and dialogue.
However, the Ondo Solidarity Forum (OSF), a group aligned with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, countered GMT’s claims in a separate statement. Signed by Obadofin Ademola, the forum described the allegations as “unfounded,” portraying Aiyedatiwa as a “peaceful and inclusive leader” who remains one of President Tinubu’s strongest allies in the state.
Ademola urged GMT to avoid stoking internal divisions and instead focus on strengthening the APC ahead of future elections.
