President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on October 6, 2025, following a ten-day working trip to Lagos, during which he engaged with investors, international officials, and attended key national events, according to a press statement released Monday morning by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
The visit commenced on Friday, September 26, when the President traveled to Lagos after attending the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, in Ibadan.
In Lagos, Tinubu held meetings with prominent business leaders, including Bayo Ogunlesi, CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, former chairman of United Bank for Africa and Etisalat, now leading Metis Capital Partners.
During the trip, the President also hosted Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), alongside Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other officials.
Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime sector as a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and a key engine for economic growth.
On the eve of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, he visited Imo State to commission projects undertaken by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book chronicling a decade of APC governance.
On Independence Day, the President delivered the national broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks, before commissioning the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts.

He urged Nigerians to speak positively about their country and embrace a unifying national spirit.
The President also visited Plateau State on October 4 to attend the burial of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC chairman Professor Nantawe Yilwatda, in Jos.
He paid tribute to the late matriarch and reassured Christian communities in Northern Nigeria of his government’s commitment to fairness and equality across all religious groups.
President Tinubu concluded his ten-day tour and returned to Abuja today, underscoring his administration’s ongoing focus on economic engagement, national unity, and cultural development.
