Tinubu’s Intervention Funds Delivering Economic Benefits To Millions, APC Chairman Says

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said the intervention programmes introduced by President Bola Tinubu’s administration are demonstrating the practical impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda by expanding access to finance, supporting entrepreneurship and creating economic opportunities for millions of Nigerians.

Yilwatda made the assertion in a statement issued on Tuesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, describing the Presidential Intervention Funds as evidence of the administration’s commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises through targeted investments in small businesses, youth empowerment and economic inclusion.

According to him, one of the major constraints facing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) over the years has been limited access to affordable financing despite the sector’s significant contribution to employment generation and economic growth.

He said the Tinubu administration has deliberately prioritised policies aimed at addressing that challenge by providing entrepreneurs with the financial support needed to expand their businesses and contribute more effectively to national development.

“The Tinubu administration recognises that sustainable economic development starts with empowering the productive sector.

By supporting small businesses and young entrepreneurs, the government is establishing a foundation for enduring prosperity and collective economic advancement,” Yilwatda stated.

The APC chairman highlighted the N75 billion Presidential Intervention Fund for MSMEs as one of the administration’s flagship initiatives designed to improve access to affordable financing for businesses operating across different sectors of the economy.

He said the programme is already enabling entrepreneurs to expand operations, improve productivity and create additional employment opportunities.

Yilwatda also pointed to the N11 billion support package provided through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), describing it as a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the capacity and competitiveness of small and medium-scale enterprises.

He further commended the N30 billion Youth Entrepreneurship Fund facilitated by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), noting that the initiative reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians with the resources needed to transform innovative ideas into successful businesses.

According to him, the intervention programmes are already making a tangible difference in the lives of ordinary Nigerians, including artisans, farmers, traders, manufacturers, tailors and other small business owners who now have greater access to capital for business expansion.

He explained that the benefits of the programmes extend beyond individual beneficiaries by stimulating productivity, increasing household incomes, strengthening local economies and creating wider opportunities for wealth generation.

“The APC is steadfast in its commitment to fostering an economy that benefits all Nigerians. These intervention funds are not simply policy declarations; they represent tangible investments in the dreams and aspirations of millions of our citizens.

“The evidence is unmistakable. Businesses are receiving assistance, young individuals are being empowered, jobs are being generated, and economic inclusion is on the rise.

This is governance that yields results, and it serves as further proof that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fulfilling his promises to the Nigerian populace,” he said.

Yilwatda reaffirmed the commitment of both the APC and the Tinubu administration to implementing policies that promote entrepreneurship, attract investment, strengthen local industries and build a resilient economy capable of delivering sustainable and inclusive growth across the country.
