Renowned Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shed light on why she chooses not to sign emerging artistes despite her deep influence in the music industry.
In a candid conversation with Forbes Africa, the mother of one admitted that she lacks the “gift” required to manage the unpredictable nature of rising stars.
Rather than dealing with the complexities of handling artistes, Tiwa envisions a different path one that empowers aspiring talents through structured learning.
She revealed her plans to establish a music school, where budding musicians can hone their craft before securing deals with record labels.
“Everyone always asks, ‘When are you going to sign an artiste?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign artistes because they are stressful. I could just wake up from sleep and my artiste is trending for something else.

“But I have the gift to help, which is why I’m trying to have a music school, where artistes can go and later sign to a label that can actually help.”
