Tonto Dikeh Leaves Nollywood Spotlight, Launches New Spiritual Movement

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has unveiled a new spiritual movement, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, describing it as an interdenominational altar dedicated to prayer, revival and spiritual transformation.

Dikeh announced the movement on Sunday through a post on her Instagram page, introducing the initiative as NWPT, a “global movement of consecrated believers called to experience the raw power, purity, and presence of God.”

The movement is anchored on Mark 2:22, which uses the imagery of new wine and old wineskins.

According to the statement accompanying the announcement, NWPT seeks to provide a spiritual community for believers who desire what it described as genuine revival, spiritual renewal and transformation.

“NWPT exists as a dwelling place of His presence for those who refuse to settle for lukewarm Christianity and are hungry for genuine revival, fire, and transformation,” the statement said.

The movement’s stated vision is “to see a global awakening of consecrated believers operating in the raw power, purity, and presence of God transforming nations and establishing the Kingdom of Christ on Earth.”

Its mission, according to the announcement, is to build an interdenominational altar of prayer, revival and apostolic training while equipping believers, developing spiritual gifts and promoting evangelism.

The statement also said the movement would seek to provide spiritual support and what it described as total freedom for those in captivity through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dikeh stressed that NWPT was not being presented as a conventional church.

“This is not a church; it is an intense gathering of those consecrated and equipped for the purposes of God. A people set apart, refined by His presence, and commissioned to advance His Kingdom,” the statement read.

The movement is scheduled to hold weekly fellowship every Friday at 6pm.

The announcement comes months after Dikeh began signing several of her social media posts as “Ada El-Roi” and became increasingly involved in Pastor Jerry Eze’s NSPPD community, alongside changes in her public expression and lifestyle.

In December 2025, the actress also shared a public testimony during a service at Streams of Joy International Church, where she spoke about what she described as her deliverance from smoking, alcohol addiction, masturbation and prolonged anger issues.

Dikeh said during the testimony that she began smoking at the age of 13 and attributed her freedom from the struggles to her Christian faith.

The actress has also maintained a public profile beyond entertainment. She ventured into politics in 2022 when she became the governorship running mate of Tonye Cole in Rivers State under the All Progressives Congress.

Earlier in 2026, Dikeh reflected publicly on her turbulent marriage to her former husband, Olakunle Churchill, years after their separation. The former couple later reconciled publicly, bringing an end to their long-running public dispute.

With the launch of NWPT, Dikeh is now adding another dimension to her increasingly visible Christian journey, positioning the initiative around prayer, revival, spiritual training and what she describes as a deeper experience of God’s presence.
