Galatasaray’s pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has hit a frustrating roadblock, as the Turkish giants await clarity on the player’s future.
The club’s vice-president, Abdullah Kavukcu, has publicly expressed growing concern over the prolonged silence from Osimhen’s camp.
Osimhen, 26, was instrumental during his loan spell in the 2024/25 season, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in just 41 appearances.
His explosive form powered the Yellow and Reds to a domestic double — lifting both the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup under the guidance of manager Okan Buruk.
Despite Galatasaray’s eagerness to make the move permanent and a lucrative offer reportedly exceeding those tabled by European suitors, Osimhen has yet to commit. Kavukcu voiced the club’s urgency in a recent statement, saying:
“He’s making us wait but time is running out. We’ve offered him figures higher than those proposed in Europe.”

While Osimhen has turned down interest from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, he remains undecided, currently vacationing in Nigeria and promising a decision on his future “soon.”

Kavukcu’s comments reflect not only frustration but also a looming deadline as the club seeks to finalize its squad ahead of Champions League qualifiers.
