Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled an attempted kidnapping and rescued six members of a family in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to security sources on Sunday, the troops responded swiftly to actionable intelligence about an ongoing attack by armed terrorists targeting the family.
It was gathered that troops immediately mobilised to the location and engaged the attackers, forcing them to abandon the operation and flee the area.
The intervention enabled the soldiers to rescue all six family members unharmed.

The rescued victims were subsequently moved to a secure facility for preliminary assessment and care, while arrangements were being made to reunite them with their relatives.
The operation highlights the continued efforts by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to respond to distress calls, disrupt terrorist activities and prevent the abduction of innocent residents across the North-West.
Security forces are expected to sustain operations in the area as part of efforts to deny criminal elements freedom of action and improve the safety of communities in Zamfara State.
