Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have foiled a terrorist attack, rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered 157 rounds of PKT ammunition during separate operations in Sokoto State, while troops in Kaduna State also arrested a suspected illicit drug dealer.

The operations were conducted by troops of the Joint Task Force North West, on September 12 and 13, 2026, as part of sustained efforts to disrupt terrorist and criminal activities across the region.

The Media Information Officer, Lt. Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

In Kaduna State, troops of Sector 1, while conducting a stop-and-search operation along the Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road on September 12, intercepted a man identified as Yohana Musa.

According to the statement, the suspect was allegedly found in possession of a large quantity of illicit drugs and substances while travelling towards Birnin Gwari.

Musa and the recovered substances have been taken into military custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation, troops of Sector 2 responded to a distress call following a terrorist attack at Unguwan Lalle in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The troops made contact with the terrorists and engaged them with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to withdraw in disarray.
