According to information released by the Defense Headquarters, Nigeria’s troops of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji neutralised at least 44 terrorists while apprehending more than 50 others in the North West and North East regions of the country in the past two weeks, scoring significant victories in the country’s fight against insurgency and non-state actors.
At the biweekly news briefing on the activities of the armed forces, Major General Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed the information on November 3, 2022, in Abuja.
He stated that between October 20 and November 2, troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East had neutralised 19 and captured 27 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists.
Danmadami claimed that during this time, the troops also discovered a sizable stash of weapons, ammunition, and other logistical supplies.
A terrorist location southwest of Maiduguri, along Tunbum Aliyu, close to Lake Chad, was the target of an air interdiction effort, he continued.
“During the period in focus, a total of 145 Boko Haram terrorists and their families comprising 30 male adults, 33 female adults and 82 children surrendered to troops at different locations within the North East theatre of operation,” Danmadami said.
