Troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN have rescued five abducted persons and arrested three suspected kidnappers in Boto Forest, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, identifying the rescued victims as Abdullahi Saleh (38), Blessed Haruna (17), Mary Nuhu (32), Charity Nuhu (35), and Abubakar Wakili (25).
According to Zhakom, the troops, during the rescue operation, pursued and apprehended three suspected kidnappers — Abubakar Shehu (30), Mohammed Sani (20), and Adamu Mohammed (25).

A further search of the area led to the recovery of one fabricated revolver rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two mobile phones, two machetes, 32 rustled cows, and N521,000 in cash — believed to be proceeds from ransom.
The rescued victims were debriefed and reunited with their families, while one victim who sustained machete injuries was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspects are in custody, making useful confessions to assist ongoing operations aimed at apprehending other members of the syndicate.
