United States President Donald Trump has once again defended his contentious proposal to take control of war-ravaged Gaza, despite firm opposition from several European nations.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on the 9th of February, 2025, Trump declared his commitment to “owning” the enclave, insisting there is little left to reclaim in the devastated region.
“But we’re committed to owning it, taking it, and making sure that Hamas doesn’t move back,” Trump stated.
“There’s nothing to move back into. The place is a demolition site.”
His proposal has been met with strong resistance from the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, and other European countries, who recently dismissed the idea of U.S. control over the Palestinian territory.

The Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a deadly attack on Israel, killing approximately 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages. In retaliation, Israel unleashed a relentless air and ground offensive on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 47,000 people.
