Returning from a weekend in Florida, President Donald Trump told reporters on the 4th of May, 2025, that “we’ve had some very good discussions” about Russia and Ukraine in recent days.
He offered no further details but made the remark while re-entering the White House.

When asked if he planned to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin during an upcoming trip to Saudi Arabia, Trump said he hadn’t considered it, but repeated that “we’ve had some very good discussions” on the issue lately.
“There’s a lot of hatred there,” he said.
