Two shot dead, INEC officials abducted at Edo Polling unit

No fewer than two persons were killed while officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were abducted by gunmen suspected to be political thugs.

The incident happened at the Iyowa ward 4 in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Accreditation and voting were going on peacefully when gunmen invaded the polling centre, shooting sporadically.

This led to the disruption of voting exercise as electorate scuttled to safety. Two unidentified persons were alleged to have been shot.
