United States President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that American forces had carried out a major aerial assault on three key nuclear facilities in Iran, marking a dramatic escalation in the ongoing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, President Trump described the operation as a “very successful attack” on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites—locations long suspected of being central to Iran’s controversial nuclear enrichment program.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump wrote. “A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are now outside of Iran’s airspace and safely on their way home.”

The U.S. military reportedly deployed bunker-busting munitions for the first time in its operational history during this assault, targeting the highly fortified Fordow facility, which is believed to be buried nearly 300 feet beneath a mountain range. Bunker busters are specialized weapons designed to penetrate deeply buried or reinforced structures, such as hardened military bunkers or underground nuclear installations.

Trump lauded the performance of the American armed forces, saying, “Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is no other military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

The Pentagon has yet to release further details regarding the scope of damage or casualties resulting from the strikes. Iranian authorities have also not issued an immediate response to the U.S. president’s announcement.

Saturday’s development significantly raises the stakes in the already volatile Middle East, following weeks of military escalation between Iran and its adversaries. Analysts warn that the unprecedented use of bunker-busting bombs may prompt a swift retaliatory response from Tehran and could destabilize regional security further.

While President Trump framed the operation as a strategic move to enforce global non-proliferation efforts, international observers continue to call for restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement to avoid the outbreak of full-scale war.
