At the convocation session held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) graduated 89 first class engineering students from the Faculty of Engineering.
The ceremony is part of UNILAG’s 56th convocation exercises, which began on Friday, January 16, 2026 and will run through Sunday, January 25, 2026, covering separate congregations for faculties and postgraduate awards.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Folasade Ogunsola announced that of the 613 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, 89 earned first class honours, highlighting strong academic performance in the discipline.
Overall, 2,097 students from the faculties of Engineering, Law, and Management Sciences graduated during the convocation session on Wednesday.

Across all faculties, 16,506 students are expected to receive degrees throughout the convocation period.
The programme included presentations of first degrees and academic prizes for Engineering, Law, and Management Sciences in both morning and afternoon sessions at the J. F. Ade. Ajayi Auditorium, Akoka.
Prof. Ogunsola praised the graduates for their dedication and reaffirmed UNILAG’s commitment to quality teaching, learning, and research, urging students to contribute positively to national development.
