No fewer than seven naval officers of the Nigerian Navy in Edo State have been abducted by yet to be identified gunmen.
FirstNews gathered that the officers were ambushed and abducted around Sapele-Warri road while on a journey to Delta from Kaduna State.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kotongs Bello, while speaking on the development said the police operatives in the state swung to action immediately and rescued five of the abducted naval officers.
He added that the operatives are pressing further in order to ensure that two remaining officers are rescued.
